DRAINAGE AND HYDROLOGY

The design and preparation of plans and specifications of an 18” storm drain force main and high volume storm water lift station.

Update of Breckenridge Planned Drainage Area Study

Revision and update to the existing PDA plan and study. Modern Hydrology methods were utilized to identify infrastructure needs.

Pine Tree Project Hydrology Study, EIR, SWPPP, and Drainage Design

Preparation of Hydrology Study, EIR, SWPPP, and drainage design for new Wind Energy Project covering over 250 square miles of drainage area.

Sandy Creek Drainage Study

Preparation of drainage study along with recommended solutions to flooding and treatment of drainage waters. This project was funded with CDBG funds.

Caliente Sand, Mineral and Mine Project

Prepare Flood Study, SWPPP’s, and Ground Water Hydrology Study. Flood study was prepared utilizing modern 2 dimensional computer methods. 

Allen Road Trunk Sewer Improvement Plans

Sewer study and preparation of construction documents for an 18” gravity sewer approximately 1 3/4 mile long.

North East Bakersfield Sewer Study and Preliminary Design

Preparation of comprehensive study and sewer master plan for more than 75 square miles of planned development in the North East area of Bakersfield. Preliminary plan profile drawing of the sewer trunk ranging from 30” to 72” diameter were also prepared.

Design for Four At-Grade Railroad Crossings

Preparation of plans and specifications for street improvements including large box culvert crossings and rail at-grade crossings.

STREET IMPROVEMENTS

Allen Road between Rosedale Hwy and Noriega Road in the County of Kern

Preparation of construction documents of Allen Road from Meacham Road to Rosedale Hwy. The expanded scope also included storm drain facilities.

Gravity Pipeline Extension from Lateral 10, Berrenda Mesa Water District

IRRIGATION AND FARM

The design and preparation of plans and specifications for a large plastic gravity pipeline 2.5 miles long varying in diameter from 27” to 15”.

System Analysis for Berrenda Mesa Water District’s Lateral 1-10 System

Prepare detailed hydraulic system analysis to determine maximum capacity for 9.5 miles of large diameter gravity pipelines. 

System Analysis for Berrenda Mesa Water District Mendiburu System

Prepare detailed hydraulic system analysis to determine maximum capacity for 6.5 miles of large diameter pipeline with California Aqueduct Turnout Pump Station and intermediate Booster Pump Station.

H.M. Holloway Water Supply Pipeline

Prepare preliminary design for truck supply pipeline.

Jefferson Park Court Resurfacing

Prepare plans and specifications for resurfacing of tennis and basketball courts. 

Westwold Park Playground

Prepare plans and specifications installation of playground equipment. This was a CDBG project.

River Oaks Park Improvement

Prepare plans, specifications, and estimate for the construction of playground equipment, basketball court, side walk, and shade structure for existing park. 

Wayside Park Playground

Prepare plans and specifications installation of playground equipment. This was a CDBG project.

The Park at Riverwalk Lake Supply Pipeline Inspection

Perform construction inspection and process change orders, and payments for construction.

Beach Park Irrigation Supply Refurbishing

Design to refurbish the irrigation system at Beach Park.

Four Ditch Pipeline Extension

WATER SYSTEMS

Prepare plans, specifications and estimate for a 36” raw waterline installation. Plans were prepared on an emergency basis in 3 weeks. This work was preformed within the County of Kern Road right of way.

Tentative Tract 6299 Water System Grid Analysis and Design

Detailed Grid Analysis for approximately 650 acres of mixed use development. Multiple pressure zones and booster stations were analyzed and designed. Tie out to existing California Water System was included.

Coffee Road Waterline Tie-in

Prepare plans, specifications, and estimate for a 12” waterline tie-in. Process permit with Bureau of Reclamation.

Filing of FEMA LOMR for Tentative Tract 6168

Perform backwater curve analysis for Kern Island Chanel to determine maximum capacity and relate to actual flood plan. File LOMR with FEMA to remove flood plain.

RIVERINE HYDRAULICS

Allen Road Kern River Bridge Riverine Study for the EIR

Preparation of Water Surface Profiling for the 1% Chance Hydrological Event and determine most effective bridge span, cross section, and channel hydraulics to minimize influence of bridge on Water Surface Profile.

Friant Kern Canal Equestrian Bridge 

Prepare plans, specifications, and estimate for the construction of a steel 135’ free span bridge.

Greer Burn Dump Remediation

Prepare plans, specifications, and estimate for the closure of an old privately operated burn dump.

Tehachapi Burn Dump Remediation

Prepare plans, specifications, and estimate for the closure of an old county operated burn dump.

Mojave-Rosamond Landfill Demarcation Layer

Prepare plans, specification, and estimate for the placement of a demarcation mat and protective cover over a potentially hazardous material.

Rosamond Burn Dump Remediation

Prepare plans, specifications, and estimate for the closure of an old county operated burn dump.

Shafter Burn Dump Remediation

Prepare plans, specifications, and estimate for the closure of an old county operated burn dump.

Plan Checking Services for the City Public Works Dept.

Review various sewer studies and drainage studies prepared by developer’s engineers.

Plan Checking Services for the Kern County Engineering and Survey Services 

Review various sewer studies and drainage studies prepared by developers engineers.

Tentative Tract 6833

Prepare Tentative Map and Application for a multifamily and commercial mixed use project. Also prepared topographic survey and ALTA survey.

East Hills Mall Drainage Study

Study approximately 800 acres of urban watershed and revise the terminal facility to regain developable land. Preparation of Improvement Plans for Storm Drain facilities and reconstruction of sump.

Prepare addendum to existing Downtown Drainage Study revising the original concept to better fit current projects. Construction Documents were then prepared for a 35” diameter relief Storm Drain.
